Wenzel Melen is an experienced commercial real estate appraiser. His appraisal expertise encompasses virtually all types of commercial and industrial properties, residential subdivisions, multi-family residences, and special purpose properties, with specialization in fractional interest valuation. His valuation product has been used for both lending and tax purposes, and he has provided real estate consulting services both in the United States, Mexico, Germany, and the Czech Republic. During the Valuation 2000 Conference held in Las Vegas in July 2000, the Appraisal Institute appointed Wenzel Melen as Ambassador to the Czech Republic and Slovakia, which authorizes Melen to represent the Appraisal Institute in these two countries. Furthermore, he serves on the Institute’s International Relationship Panel. Wenzel Melen received his BS and MBA degrees from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles where he majored in finance, economics and business administration with an emphasis on the international aspect of the respective fields. He is a State of California Certified General Appraiser, an Accredited Senior Appraiser with the American Society of Appraisers, and holds an MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute. He also holds a Certificate in Hazardous Materials Management. Melen has been engaged in the field of real estate appraisal since 1985. Throughout his appraisal carrier, he has drawn heavily on the data research, compilation, and analysis experience he acquired during his employment with A.B. Laffer Associates – an economic consulting firm. He provided consulting and advisory services in the real estate acquisition field for several years in Germany. He has made presentations and lectures to the Czech Chamber of Property Valuers in Prague, the Technical University in Brno, and the Association of Expert Valuers and Real Estate Appraisers in the Czech Republic. |
